I added some Dagelandic (Dutch) speaking cities

To seamlessly blur our two cultures at our border. That way it is not such an unrealistic hard line. I did the same for some cities near Galicia. :) Bhj867 (talk) 09:32, 6 August 2014 (CEST)

Okay that's nice. I think the sea between us can be a sort of hard border, but it isn't necessary. KVh (talk) 21:18, 6 August 2014 (CEST)

Culture, language, and ethnicity

So far most of us have been using "The World" and making up our own ethnicities based on either real ethnicities or ones related to the ethnicities of our neighbors. We are currently working on building a model of the language groupings and cultures of this world. When using continental terms, the continent names are marked here at Portal:Geography. Use terms like "West Ulethan" or "East Terephian". Here is a handy map that is being worked on at the moment. quick map and being talked about Here: Talk:Portal:World History. I am encouraging everyone to get into the conversation. :) Please don't be offended if I copy paste this into others talk pages. Thank you (talk) 07:26, 9 August 2014 (CEST)

Colony New Holland

Hello, isleño had the idea, that the people from the colony "New Holland" (now eastcoast of Latina) are from Dageland. In my intention Bernard Van Pelt 1477 landed there. He named the first founded town "New Amsterdam" - but this town can have a "dagelandic" name p.e. New Durië or an other. If you agree, please tell me a pretty dagelandic name (in "dutch" and "english" please, if there is a conrete meaning). Thanks. --Histor (talk) 21:48, 13 August 2014 (CEST)

Nice idea! Some Dagelandic cities on sea that existed in that time were: Utta, Inweg and Olingen. (only Inweg has a sort of meaning, namely 'in-road', but no clear meaning). You can use Durië (in English and most Romance languages it would be Duria). In the 15th century the Kingdom of Durië consisted of a larger part of Dagelanden. From about Estenhof to Dajan, so it was a powerful country. Please let me know. I could make a village called Pelt where Bernard Van Pelt's family can originated from. KVh (talk) 22:01, 13 August 2014 (CEST)
Too a nice idea, the little village of the Van Pelt family. So I will name the capital of New Holland now Durië (Duria) I set Van Pelt down to 1477 and Bergez (surveyor of Latina) up to 1488, because it is easyer to sail from Uletha to "New Holland" at the latinian eastcoast as to the southcoast of Latina. --Histor (talk) 22:15, 13 August 2014 (CEST)
I'd call it Nieuw Durië / New Duria instead of Durië, like New Amsterdam. But isn't it more logical to call a city after a city instead of a country? KVh (talk) 22:20, 13 August 2014 (CEST)
There you are free, I think. Many new cities are named after an old city, but too after a landscape or province. Special in the case, tha the new settlers not come only at one town, but a wider area. I have no problem with "Nieuw Durië" (New Duria) --Histor (talk) 22:30, 13 August 2014 (CEST)

Zylanda and Latina had (vice-versa) embassies with many countries. So now are the time of colonialisme (as to New Holland) is long years ago, we can think over embassies. So if you agree, I will draw one of Dagelanden in Latina, Porto Colon and Elegantia (Capital of Zylanda). The name on the flag is always only "Latina" or "Zylanda" and I will set "Dagelanden". O.k.? --Histor (talk) 13:04, 14 August 2014 (CEST)

That is fine. It will be an embassy in Latina and Elegantia and a consulate in Porto Colon. When I create my capital of Totenburg, I will draw the Latinian or Zylandian embassy too. By the way, what do you mean with: "The name on the flag is always only "Latina" or "Zylanda" and I will set "Dagelanden"."? KVh (talk) 15:08, 17 August 2014 (CEST)
Sorry, was a few days not at home. I mean with the names, that I (and others) at the name of the embassies only set "Latina" and not "United Republic of Latina" or so. It is a question of place in the cities and if the name is too long, the renderer writes in doubt nothing to the embassy-flag. Is the name shorter, you have a better chance, to see the name. --Histor (talk) 22:25, 20 August 2014 (CEST)
Here they are

If you want anything in other manner, plaese write me. --Histor (talk) 00:24, 21 August 2014 (CEST)

Future of Dagelanden

What's going to happen with your old country, neighbor Bhj867 (talk)

Hello Bhj867. I quitted OGF last year and I returned last summer. I wanted to build a nation that is small enough to be as detailed as I wanted to make Dagelanden. So now I'm developing the countries Durië and Luiveland. I think about making Dagelanden free (green on the overview map) again.
Sorry for leaving. But I think the influence Dagelanden had on your country was rather small and you will be better of with an active than an inactive neighbor. KVh (talk) 13:04, 3 November 2015 (CET)
