Do we have a name for the sheltered sea/large bay to the East of the Tarephian mainland?
If not, what is the process for deciding names for large international waters such as this?
The entire sea is of course the Sea of Uthyra, but I'm not aware (and there's no recorded name) for the bay I think you're talking about. I do vaguely recall something to do with Vodeo being proposed at some point, but if you want to make a proposal for some new name ideas something in this subforum would suit!--Lithium-Ion (talk) 23:45, 1 February 2023 (UTC)
Sea of Vodeo.. sounds good! It's the sea that is ringed with small islands, similar to the Gulf of Mexico. Maybe Gulf of Vodeo is a better fit?

- I've seen the bay referred to as the Sea or Gulf of Vodeo before, and I'd be happy for it to become official. I know that there is some reluctance to name major bodies of water after existing countries for fear of them being abandoned, but Vodeo's been around for over six years now, so that may not be much of an issue. - I think the bay in question is the large one ringed by Vodeo, Tarrumarca, Arbutania, Anrovia, Bonavista, Anglada, etc. I've called the smaller one between Vodeo, Aztlan, and TA097 the Gulf of St Austell in my notes for want of another name. ParAvion (talk) 21:25, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

- I believe the Sea of Uthyra is the name for the entire body of water between Tarephia and Uletha. I don't know if there are any names in use for the smaller bays and seas that are part of it, though. ParAvion (talk) 21:36, 4 February 2023 (UTC)

- Apologies for the incredibly late reply. Real life got busy and I had to put OGF on the back for a bit. So to clarify, this is the best place to decide on a name between members? The sea/gulf/bay in question is here - https://opengeofiction.net/#map=6/4.532/36.189. Being ringed to the East by island chains, it seems logical it would be a named area of sea given that it is "separated" from the larger Ocean. I personally like the Sea of Vodeo as suggested in the past, and given how much new mapping is happening in the area, it seems right that it be named and the nations thus having a linked identity (Vodean?? a la Caribbean?).
