Hi, I have seen that flowerbeds (landuse=flowerbed) are not rendered is OGF but in OSM they are.
Rendering example in OSM: https://www.openstreetmap.org/way/1134505713#map=19/60.18084/24.97658
How they are rendered incorrectly or not at all in OGF: https://opengeofiction.net/way/34433017 (incorrect), https://opengeofiction.net/way/34438690 ( no rendering)
Also, I am not sure was this the correct area to send this. But if it's a mistake, please fix it, thanks. —Unsigned comment by Themapper53 (talk).
- Hello. First, I would like to ask you to please sign any posts you make. You can do that by typing four tildes (~).
- As for the rendering, you are correct that flowerbeds do not render. In fact, there are quite a few things on OGF that do not render the same way as they do on OSM. Simply put, this is because we use a different stylesheet for our rendering than OSM does. For technical reasons, this is not actually a mistake. I can take a look to see if this is something we can easily incorporate as part of our next site update. Cheers. — Alessa (talk) 18:07, 28 July 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, thanks for notifying to sing m comments. Yes, if it's possible to fix it easily, then it would be nice to be fiixed. Thanks. Themapper53 (talk) 06:31, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
- It's not a trivial fix. Tit's all just part of being out of step with OSM changes, and subject to the availability of a small number of people who take on the maintenance of the site. So, no fixed timeline. Important point - don't map for the renderer. If they're flower beds - or golf course features - then map them as such. The next time the stylesheet is refreshed then they will be displayed as expected. Your first example isn't being incorrectly rendered, it's being rendered as
leisure=garden
as you have tagged it. - Also, we supply all required files to allow users to build their own map tile servers, which a couple of users do. So that's another option. Thanks/wangi (talk) 08:16, 29 July 2024 (UTC)
