AN117 - the Cutmin Islands
Physical geography | |

An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar) |
A chain of formerly volcanic islands. The topography is a tropical, Polynesian island climate, with lush tropical rainforests, rivers from the tops of mountains, and sandy beaches.
Some examples of it - (Similar to these real-life locations)
In this image you can see the regions. The red is the region where the capital, Nova, will be located, and the most populated region. The yellow will be where the next most populated region will be. The orange will be where the next after that, then the green, the blue after that, and the pink last.

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
The economic development of the islands is that sugarcane and fishing are the main industries. A large amount of people in rural areas work on sugar-cane plantations. There are designated ring roads around the islands' coasts. Most people in the several urban areas work in either fishing-related jobs, such as canning factories, the several sugar refineries, the ports around the islands, some of the office buildings that host the local economy, government jobs, and schooling, as well as the government-supplied healthcare system. The island hosts large amounts of forest, with a majority of it protected. Railroads operate in the country, while most are for the sugar cane industry, there are government-operated narrow gauge railways that transport both passengers and freight. There is one major airport on each significantly populated island. Some of the smaller islands only have seaplane bases. All international flights, however, go into the capital, Nova's, airport, which functions as both an airbase and a commercial airport. The islands host 223,839 people, with around 1/3 of them living in the capital. The mapping style will be involved in a way of mainly unplanned (as in not following a grid) roads, mainly following local topography, with the exception of the capital, Nova, of which had underwent a major urban reconstruction in the 1950s, however, not all roads follow a completely aligned grid, owing on the several different construction companies that were involved in the effort. There are many roads to the inside of the island, however only around thirty percent are paved. 4/5 of the population of all of the islands live on the coast, although there is still villages that are in the insides of the islands.
The economy of the country is mostly based on the fishing and sugarcane industry, while tourism is a secondary contributor.

A brief description of the intended culture and language |
In ancient times, people came to these islands from other islands and the mainland. The first system in place were fishermen who traded with neighboring villages. The islands became separate kingdoms and eventually united in the year 1568. In the 1700s, some ships from far away came to the islands and made contact. The people were welcoming of them. Trade, however, did not start until the mid-to-late 1800s. By then, there had been several foreign investments into the islands, and the islands managed to stay independent. In 1923, large public anger began towards the king. A war broke out between divided factions, the supporters of the monarchy and the opponents. The war lasted for 6 months, when a truce was signed, making the country a constitutional monarchy.
The country became reliant on its fishing industry over after the truce, with a rapidly expanding economy. The country today is not entirely developed, however, while some people in the capital Nova live in modern apartment buildings, others still live in small fishing shacks besides the coast, although around 99% of the country has access to electricity, thanks to the government's efforts at solar panel distribution. Running water is not available to every house, but wells provide clean drinking water to most communities.
Public schools operate in the country, with around 80% of students attending them, while the rest attend religious schools. The country has its own military, being equipped with many foreign-developed tools. The demographics of these islands are that the official, day-to-day language used between each other is Cutmin, a Polynesian language (basically the same as Fijian but I changed it a bit). The official language, used for road signs and road names, is English. Most people are Polynesian, mainly coming from other islands. The culture will be similar to the real-life nations of Fiji and Samoa, as well as New Caledonia.
