The Territory ID (from OpenGeofiction:Territories, e.g. AR123a) and proposed name of the country |
Hello! I am Juan&don and I really hope I can acquire the territory of AN134E.
My inspirations for Mayana would be the Southern and Appalachian foothills (like in Ohio or Kentucky), México, and argentina.
Physical geography | |
---|---|
An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar) |
Topography - Mayana would have rolling hills in the south and central, and the highest hills and mountains are in the southeast, near the border with Bromley. Mayana would have lots of rivers and the largest river, as in widest and longest, is the Rio Amaréo in the west. Mayana’s north coast would be the most populated, and flattest region of Mayana. Mayana’s north and south are divided by a small mountain range that would cut straight through the nation. Mayana’s rivers also provide loads of flat land on either side. The flat land is suitable for farming and in some states, who are along the rivers, you can see tons of farms that have deforested the local forests in large amounts.
Climate - Mayana is very warm, humid, and doesn’t have any extreme winters.
Geography - Mayana is covered in Forests for the most part, with only few pockets of agriculturally based lands. The north has a more temperate landscape and has rocky beaches as well as some warm, sandy almost tropical-like beaches. The mountains of Mayana don’t normally get to high, besides a few in the southeast and the central range.

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
Cities - Mayana has many cities, most of which, are located in the north. mayana’s capital, Philippeville, is also the most populated and has the largest metropolitan area. Mayana’s second largest city, Santa María del Carrau (also known as Santa María) is also the largest city in the south. Mayana has tons of small towns, villages, and most of these are agriculture based.
City Layouts - Mayana’s city layouts are inspired by the US and México, as in most small US towns, and the layouts of Say, Guadalajara or México City. Other cities I will take inspiration from are like Rosario, Buenos Aires, and Montevideo (Uruguay).
Economy - Mayana’s economy is based around mining, forestry, agriculture, manufacturing, and the cheap labour has brought many companies into Mayana, especially in the central regions. Tourism is also high in Mayana and the many national parks have brought tons of tourists to see the natural beauty of Mayana.
Road Network - Mayana’s highways are labeled in two ways,
M as in motorways - the largest and most important roadways, these connect most major cities in Mayana (such as the M8, going from Philippeville, all the way to Santa María del Carrau).
Routes - smaller highways or smaller main roads that connect smaller regions and smaller cities or towns.
Public Transport - Mayana is home to one of the largest aircraft company in the world, and has lots of airports. Buses connect most cities together, and trains connect major regions such as the north and south, and all the population centers.
States - Mayana has 11 states, most of which lay in the north, which only three in the south. Some states are smaller than the others, like Philippeville, the most populated state and the capital state. Some states also have distinct cultures like the Mayanese culture in the south, the Franquese speaking state of Bélina.
History & culture | |
---|---|
A brief description of the intended culture and language |
History - Mayana was colonized by three nations, the Franquese, the Ingerish, and the Castellanese. The Castellanese colonized the south and the Franquese and Ingerish colonized the north. The Franquese colony of Bélina was conquered by the Ingerish and the Grand Colony of Mayana was founded. In 1814, the Mayanese declared their independence from the Ingerish and founded the Republic of Mayana on the 16th of December. After their independence, Mayana would go to war with the Castellanese in the south and would gain its modern borders. In 1964, Mayana would go through a civil war that would divide the nation both racially and economically, as the south and its economy was destroyed and racial segregation plagued Mayana afterwards. In 1983, an act was passed by the congress of Mayana to lessen the divide of the two regions by working of infrastructure projects, and creating job opportunities in the south.
Culture - Mayana has four distinct cultures.
Mayanese - a conlang I created as a mix of Spanish and Portuguese, this would be spoken by the people in the south as well as castellanese. Mayanese is the main culture of the native peoples of Mayana. Mayanese has distinct foods and they have their own government body, which is a part of the congress of Mayana.
Ingerish - the Ingerish in the north are the most populated people group and they have the most say in the government. Most presidents of Mayana have been Ingerish. Ingerish have developed a distinct Ingerish-Mayanese accent, like a South African style accent mixed with an American accent.
Castellanese - the Castellanese are the most populated group in the south and they most resemble the Mexican people of México. They get the second most amount of representation and they have had the second most amount of presidents in Mayana.
Ajuro & Agumas - the two native groups of Mayana who have lived in the Mayanese lands before the colonizers came. The Ajuro & Agumas are the least populated people group, as most of their peoples became Mayanese.
Political System - Mayana has a president, also known as a Baldéura in Mayanese, which serves 6 years, and can only have 1 reelection. There is also the Congress of Mayana, who are 120 people, voted by the peoples of Mayana. There is also the Mayanese Body, Ajuro Body, and the Agumas Body. Each of these three bodies are made up entirely of 30 people of their own cultures descent, to give their peoples representation.
Power Sources - Coal, Solar power, Hydroelectric power, and wind power all provide electricity for Mayana.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful | |
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL. |

Hi Juan&don,
Please note you got your permanent territory just last month. This way to early to even consider an additional one. Thank you for your understanding.--Aiki (talk) 15:26, 19 August 2023 (UTC)

Hello Aiki, how long until I would be able to acquire another territory? Obviously I’d probably have to do more work in São Lourenço e São Cristóvão.
Thank you for responding,
