The Territory ID (from OpenGeofiction:Territories, e.g. AR123a) and proposed name of the country |
AR120-15 - Passamaqueets (Exchange for UL28a)
Physical geography | |
---|---|
An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar) |
Climate
Topography
- The dark green is low elevation, just to explain the curves of the rivers
- The "mountains" represented in lighter green would not surpass 900ft, and would be mostly preserved.

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
Cities and Demographics
The total population of the state of Passamaqueets will be concentrated in the Fallsbury metro area, which is going to have ~2m people on AR120-15’s part of the metro. The rest of the state is going to have ~1m people, very split between rural and urban, making the total population ~3m.
This state will be inspired by Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Connecticut, falling in the New England theme, just like the states near it. I imagine the state having a lot of farms in the regions near the coast, and a more preserved inner mountains, which would be a skiing spot (but not too famous).
The economy would be smaller than the state of Connecticut, but still significantly larger than Rhode Island, with a few famous prestigious universities in Fallsbury, and a few corporations based there.
If possible, I would like the current urban mapping to be cleared, but I can totally do it myself if you, admin, are having a busy routine, or if just not possible.
History & culture | |
---|---|
A brief description of the intended culture and language |
Origin
The name “New Saxondale” would come from the city of New Saxondale, which would have strong ingerish heritage, many coming from the regions near Winburgh, therefore explaining why the city was named New Saxondale.
Culture
Culture would be identical to Connecticut, and the language would be ingerish because of the FSA theme.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful | |
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL. |

Discussion for clarification & decision |
Extra: The main reason why I exchanged my territory, is because I chose UL28a exactly because it had many neighbors, which seemed active, however after three months of mapping, I realized that the mappers in that region are not so active as I thought, and another reason is that I would like to be able to border Minimapper because of friendship.
I do understand that I will need to stick to this territory longer than before, as I was warned before.
Lastly, I already contacted the admin for East Uletha regarding the other application me and Minimapper made, and how we are withdrawing it, sorry for the inconvenience.What3089 (talk) 01:49, 22 January 2024 (UTC)
Hi! I'm the FSA's Eastern Coordinator.
The Norrotuck Watershed park was voted in as a National Park, so it can't really be adjusted from its original context as a wetland, or otherwise modified. You'd probably have to have those hills west of the Nagahomany River. This affects your climate map as well (based on a discussion I found from two years ago, I think the coastal regions of your state would be something like dfa, but that's getting into the weeds lol).
New Saxondale is a bit of a problematic, as we try to avoid major real life names such as "Saxon". I'm aware it is a name in Ingerland, but it's a remnant from that country's previous mapper and I don't expect it to stick around very long.
Other than that, solid application. The twin cities idea you have going with MiniMapper is cool. I'd be happy to wipe urban mapping for you, although if admin allows I'll be preserving some elements elsewhere. --Fluffr Nuttr (talk) 01:53, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Hey there! Thanks for replying to my application, I would surely keep the park intact, I accidentally painted over some lakes when I made the map to erase the name, as for the name I chose New Maryshire instead, having some relation with the state's capital, Port Mary. I would also openly change the climate, and lastly, thank you for wiping the urban mapping for me, but you can keep the very nice airport in Mayport intact if you ended up not being able to move the mapping. - Hi, the proposed name of "New Saxondale" is a non-starter - our policy of being original and not using real-world terms (wikipedia:Saxons). I'm not sure "New Maryshire" (where's Maryshire?) with "Port Mary" work either - totally overloads on the Mary. The state was previously called Passamaqueets, this might work? Thanks/wangi (talk) 10:48, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
Hi, "Passamaqueets" totally works, thanks for recommending it. What3089 (talk) 14:16, 24 January 2024 (UTC)
- Note: you need to maintain (as in - do not delete) any existing national park sites, collaborating and discussing any changes with neighbours and coordinators. See: Collab:Federal States/National Parks. Thanks/wangi (talk) 12:13, 29 January 2024 (UTC)
