The Territory ID (from OpenGeofiction:Territories, e.g. AR123a) and proposed name of the country |
TA011b - Demirhan Tarephian Khedivate (Demirhanlı Tarap Hidivliği in Turkish, an actual name on the map)

An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar) |
Most of the territory is supposed to be flat with large areas in the coast covered in mangrove swamps and other wetlands. Some small mountains (mostly below 2000 metres) are used as a base for the northern border. Most likely they are supposed to be a continuation of rolling hills in South Serion, one of the closest active territories in the area at the moment (except Arbutania) and probably show, at least historically heavy volcanic activity. Additionally, in the southwestern part of the territory coastal rolling hills are present, creating large river basin between them and aforementioned northern mountains. In the center of eastern peninsula I plan to put a caldera lake.
The two islands in the west are supposed to be of volcanic origin with strong inspiration derived from places like Reunion or Canary Islands.

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
Total population, according to my estimations, should be around 4-5 million inhabitants. The center of the population will be located in westernmost peninsula (density around 120 people per square kilometre), followed by the islands (80) and the western province (10), which will be mostly forested with exception of some mining villages and other isolated communities which main purpose is export of minerals along the big river.

History & culture | |

A brief description of the intended culture and language |
The territory is supposed to be a a colonial posession of Demirhan Empire. Strongly influenced by Turkish/Ottoman (with some pocket spots of some other imperial cultures) and indigenous South American cultures. The native cultures I planned for the territory are Quechua and Aymara (in the islands). Westernmost coastal area is supposed to have historic Spanish influence. The native cultures and languages are still extensively present in most of the territory because the Empire never really pushed for single language policy (except for the fact that Turkish is main language of education and government with local exceptions). The religion is, however, different thing and almost all territory inhabitants were converted to Islam/Iman in the first years after the conquest. Despite that some buildings left by former civilization still can be found, especially in the western part of the country.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL. |
I will focus on more recent creations as I feel my skills increased recently:
- Wetlands:
- Urban mapping:
- Rural mapping:
- Detailed areas:
- For large scale natural mapping I recommend to look at all my countries as all of them have that in place.

Discussion for clarification & decision |
- As the territory is a bit bigger than I initially planned (77 000 km2 of land area, compared to 30 000 km2 which I hoped for) I may consider dropping western part of the territory (behind the thin black line) as it doesn't change much of cultural aspects of the territory (or the population) but I would really miss that forest. Hi,
Overall, this is a very interesting application which I'd be most happy to approve. A unique colonizing project, which would fit Tarephia rather well.
However, if you unsure whether or not to keep the western half, it would probably be useful to decide upon this. I personally would err on the side of caution -- but if you're concerned about the forest (which one?), also bear in mind you're currently applying for a territory in fresh canvas, so you and I are free to redirect the borders a bit here. - Well, as I said I prefer the territory stay in the shape as it is. I mentioned the downsiing just in case it would be considered too big. But if the size is considered ok by You, I will be glad to take entire TA011b. Sorry for confusion. Rustem Pasha (talk) 01:32, 18 September 2022 (UTC)
- Ahhh, this edit followed a bit too quickly on mine so I didn't notice it... and understood. Right now, real estate in Tarephia is quite cheap, so there's no issue for me to grant the full territory. (Also in case you hadn't noticed, the location is a bit easier to justify when you also consider the UL02c strait.) Taka (talk) 13:33, 26 September 2022 (UTC)

Granted, quite excited to see this region redevelop with a unique territory that fits the overall theme. Taka (talk) 13:33, 26 September 2022 (UTC)
