An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar) |
The climate for the nation can be Cwa, or a humid subtropical climate with a monsoon influence. The topography for the nation is mountainous, like that of Réunion. As for how these mountains formed, maybe volcanic activity occurred in the areas, creating islands from volcanic cones, which then eroded over millenia. Here's what I envisioned the topography and human geography of the nation to be like.

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
About half of the population lives rurally, where most occupations care in the form of agriculture. Rice terraces are common in the mountains, whereas wheat, fruit and other grains are grown in the flatter areas. The other half lives in cities and towns surrounding. There is much more poverty (maybe about 70%) in rural areas, than in urban areas (around 20%). Informal settlements and slums exist at the edges of cities and towns, as many are often cleared for urban development and are forced to relocate in the surroundings. Infrastructure in cities are well-maintained and public transport exists for the capital city. However, in rural areas, roads are often unpaved and potholes are very common.

A brief description of the intended culture and language |
The languages can be a Tibetan-Japanese mix for the main two islands, and for the third island (if it is included in the nation), it can be Manchu. The main religion would be Buddhism, and a new culture from Chinese, Japanese and Tibetan traditions would form.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful | |
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL. |
Suburban mapping: Here and here
I have yet to do mapping for landscapes, but I will do it here.

Discussion for clarification & decision |
I would like to abandon my application for UL28h.
- Hi, interesting request switch.
- The use of Japanese is good since the area will be the Japonic area in the continent. Just a bit dubious about the use of Tibetan here. Maybe something like Ryukyuan could fit better, also given the closeness of Pyeokchin (the Korean-speaking nation). For example, the Tarama Language could be a good candidate. Also, the sketch link appears broken. --Izaland Terramorphing Committee (talk) 15:49, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
Hi Kyunzi, thanks for your new application. I'll go ahead and close the old one. I think your application makes for an interesting concept that would fit in well with the general area. I am a bit more positive about your language concept than Iza - While we associate Tibetian not with island nations in the real world, it could make for some interestings interplays and as long as the nation fits into the general "Japonic" concept of the area, there is a lot of room for creativity. Out of curiosity, re you able to read and write some (very basic) Japanese? Before proceeding with your application, similarly to my comments on the last application, please
- provide an example natural/rural mapping
- provide a sketch of the nation including natural and human geography.
After that I am confident that we can proceed with the approval. Best, Leowezy (talk) 16:58, 15 November 2024 (UTC)
Hi Izaland!
I could definitely centre the language over Ryukyuan, and maybe a bit of Min-nan, Hokkien and Korean influence as well.
I added a link above. Hopefully it is sufficient, but if it isn't, please tell me anything else I can add. Kyunzi (talk) 07:13, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
Hello Leowezy!
Thank you! I could add small amounts of Tibetan influence for realism.
I understand Katakana and Hiragana, as well as most N5 level Kanji.
In the coordinates I provided, I have just created a mountain village with a river. If there's anything else you wish to see, please tell me and I can try make it. I have also provided a link to my sketch of the nation above. Hopefully it works, as imgur is down and flickr doesn't work for me for some reason. Kyunzi (talk) 07:13, 16 November 2024 (UTC)
I have made a name change because the old name was based on Tibetan. This new name is based off the words "three" and "island" in Ryukyuan languages.
I'll go ahead and approve. Please note that in your natural mapping, the different landcovers overlap, for example, the area you tagged as natural=scrub is also enclosed withing the landuse=forest area, resulting in both the scrub and the forest icons to appear in that area. To avoid this, there are two things you can do: either map the outer ring of forest cover as two separate areas that both enclose the inner area (like a C and a mirrored C) or, the better and tiny bit more advanced way, use relations with the type=multipolygon tag.Leowezy (talk) 19:58, 17 November 2024 (UTC)
