Economic systems
There are a diversity of economic systems in the world, ranging from traditional economies to market and planned economies with mixed economies in between. In many instances, the economic system is tied directly to government policy and may vary over time with protracted control by a particular ideological bloc. The map below shows an overview of the various economic systems.

Economic strength
HDI
Multiple factors exist for measuring the strength of economies and general or public wealth. HDI measures a combination of economic and social-service components to approximate quality of life. The factors included are life expectancy, education, and per capita income. The map below highlights HDI as estimated for each sovereign territory.
