An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar) |
The climate of Robertia is quite warm, and very humid on the coasts. There is a mountain range that runs diagonally from the northwest to the southeast. Many people choose to live higher in these mountains because it provides a much nicer place to live. The coasts of Robertia are beach filled and mostly flat, creating great farmland for fruits and certain grains in the slightly drier winter. The peninsula is mostly low and windy. In the northeast, the coasts are very rural with rolling hills and cattle grazing lands.
There is already forests approximately where the mountains are on the map of AR023.
Human geography | |

A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
The biggest city of Earlton is located in the peninsula of the southeast. The city metropolitan area takes up a large portion of the peninsula, and is a large economical area with many ships passing through the strait to Mecyna, and many stopping at Earlton for a refuel. The building style of Robertia is a mix of United States and Central American. There are some grid cities, but many are filled with history and not laid out in a grid.
There are many freeways connecting parts of Robertia together. They run mainly along the coasts, but there are a few that cross the mountains. The rail network in Robertia is very modern in the bigger cities like Earlton, but passenger rail options are very lacking in some regions of the mountains and the east. There are trunk roads throughout the country, and they are wide and up to standard. Many freeways are accompanied by an older highway, which is usually much windier and less wide. All major cities along the west coast are within a few miles of a highway, but in the mountains and the east you could be almost a hundred miles from an improved highway.
Robertia has the following provinces:
Earl, containing the peninsula
Eastland, containing land west of the mountains
Coastia, containing land on the south coast
Mountainia, containing the mountains

A brief description of the intended culture and language |
Robertia is not a very old country. It is similar in age to the Federal States, as it was colonized from farther away nations. Robertia gained it's independence via war with the nation. Robertia speaks Ingrish like many of the countries around it. The country takes pride in it's tourism and and shipping industry, but it also has a lot of rural farming and ranching,

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful | |
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL. |

- Thanks for taking the time to put this application together. Please include a sketch of your overall plans for the territory. Given the proximity and the overlapping cultural influences, I would recommend you consider applying to join the Collab:Federal States project. There are many vacant states available with a variety of themes and topography available based on whatever you’d like to map. —TheMayor (talk) 03:45, 9 August 2023 (UTC)
- Sorry for that, I did not have a sketch put up at the time.
Colors:
- Black: Possible borders of provinces
- Orange: Possible freeways or major highways
- Yellow: Possible major roads
- Green: Possible contour marks or mountain areas
- Blue: Possible ferries with collaboration with other territories
- Maroon: Names of possible cities
There are also going to be rivers and lakes that will go throughout the southern coast, and smaller local lakes and reservoirs littering the east coast

- Hi Robert, I see you've applied for my former territory. While I'd encourage people to take the territory and be imaginative with it (All I valued as mapping is already gone from it), I need to state that this territory already has a topology established on the topo layer. Probably Luciano here can help state what would be the requirements of keeping it, but it probably would be recomended that you keep at least faithful to the idea that layer brings in as of relief, maybe adding some detail to it. Best of luck in your application! --Martinawa (talk) 01:28, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- Martinawa is correct that the territory has a topo layer. However, I actually had been seriously considering deleting it - it's quite large relative to most topo layers and I didn't see the point in maintaining it without an active user. So you'll want to consider if you want to preserve the topo layer (and take on the huge task of improving it - which it definitely needs) or whether it should be deleted.--Luciano (talk) 04:15, 10 August 2023 (UTC)
- Whilst it would be interesting to map over an existing topology layer, it would likely not turn out very well and I currently have no idea on how to start updating or building a topology layer. It may be worth deleting the layer over AR023 for now, and rebuilding it when there is some mapping built up over the area, but I feel like it would be to difficult for someone like me who is just a casual mapper. --RobertTBS (talk) 18:00, 10 August 2023 (UTC)

Hi, this is a significant size of territory, which is going to need a good bit of mapping experience on the site to support. So, please continue to build that up - it might be easier to do that in your own BG territory. Such mapping can be moved later.
Specifically, on the proposed country:
