Forum:Territory application/UL04h Florescenta
- Please fill in the information below to make a territory request.
Territory ID and proposed name | |
---|---|
The Territory ID (from OpenGeofiction:Territories, e.g. AR123a) and proposed name of the country |
Physical geography | |
---|---|
An overview of climate, topography and landscape of the country. It is advised to also create a sketch, you can add a link to this (hosted on imgur or similar) |
As it will be a collaborative territory, things like topography and landuse (woods and farmlands) may be discussed later, with potential collaborators if approved the request.
Human geography | |
---|---|
A brief description of the territory demographics, economic development, land occupation, infrastructure and mapping style |
Basic intention is to keep and respect current things by Andy, the original creator of current mapping. Main cities around these main rivers, etc. Porto Real is located in a nice place to be the capital, etc. Some things may change. Example: Fortaleza do Sul, as name says, "South Fortress", will fit better as name to a southern city, hahaha. Other example: Bocabanga looks more as a brasilian or angolan name, so, maybe we will change it.
History & culture | |
---|---|
A brief description of the intended culture and language |
Here is the main reason to ask this territory. As known, Florescenta is like our OGF-Portugal. It is very important in history line of some countries as Brasonia, Cariocas, Tempeira and others where florescentian (portuguese) is spoken.
Well, currently I don't know about any portuguese user in OGF (there was Yuanls, but I think he is no longer an active user), but as portuguese is my mother language (I am brasilian, I think everyone knows it, hahaha), I think I am able to coordinate this territory. I am always talking to Davieerr, and recently, to Tonny, two other brasilian users, who looks interested to help this project.
Important note: If approved my request, users who doesnt speak portuguese will be welcome too.
Davieerr is very good to write a coherent history time line, I am sure he will do a great work about it.

To support your request provide links to areas of OGF mapping which showcase your mapping skill. Mapping relevant to the requested theme & geography is especially useful | |
The {{coord}} template can optionally be used to link to the OGF map - it results in a nice formatted link. Or you can paste in a URL. |
As said, the intention is keeping and detailing current Andy's mapping, but as example of previous work detailing maps, I can mention:
Username & date | |

Sign and date the application by typing four tildes like this: ~~~~ |

Discussion for clarification & decision |
- Hello, BMSOUZA. I don't think we need lengthy discussions for this request, you are a very reputable mapper. With that, I still need to confirm whether you can handle an additional territory, especially since you would be the coordinator of the project. I am not entirely sure where are you active right now, but despite your high reputation I still need to be sure that you have the time to commit to this project. Who are all the additional users interested in the project as of now (other than you and Davieerr)?
- Another thing, and this is more of a note rather than a request, User:Martinawa has created a topo for his own collaborative project right next door, which included present day's Florescenta. Are you willing to stick to that, do you plan on changing anything? The image can be found here
- Normally a sketch is required for the territory request to be accepted, however given that this is a collaborative project, I may leave that to you when the project commences. Other than that, I have no problems of accepting this request. ⸺ Bixelkoven (talk) (West Uletha Admin) 12:17, 22 June 2024 (UTC)
- Hi, Bixelkoven! I am very happy about the way you consider me. I am always trying to do my best in OGF.
- Lately I was keeping focus in Cariocas, and before this, was in Orange Coast (FSA), but these are "private" projects. Anyway, I think I can deal with this collaborative project, where I will not edit everything. Also mentioning that, in my vision, user Davieerr will be the same status than me if this project get your approval. Still, as said, the first steps will be only us, but as it will be an open project, other users will be welcome to join, as we are sketching an article to keep clear and debate how things should be in this project.
- I sent a message to Martinawa these days, asking for some advice, as Castellán also is a collaborative project and a very close neighbor and partner to Florescenta, in several things, like history and commerce. Talking to Davieerr, we like and agree that topo map, but surely we will debate details about it and other things like hydrography, etc.
- I am here if you get more questions, friend! -- BMSOUZA (talk) 00:24, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- Ah, so both you and Davieerr intend to be coordinators? Am I getting that right. I only saw you sign this request with your name, which is why I thought you were the only one requesting the coordinator position.
- I am glad you already started the sketch. Please write back the confirmation regarding Davieerr also becoming a coordinator. ⸺ Bixelkoven (talk) (West Uletha Admin) 11:54, 23 June 2024 (UTC)
- Thank you very much, Bixelkoven!
- Yes, Davieerr will be coordinator like me!
- We will still update that sandbox for a while before starting officially the Collab:Florescenta article. -- BMSOUZA (talk) 14:28, 24 June 2024 (UTC)

No additional comments, other than the ones mentioned above. I will add the collab to the list of collaboratives later, and well as fletch out all other needed details. Happy mapping! |
